Ford Opens Technical Training Centre in Chennai

  • A state-of-the-art training centre to equip technicians from Ford dealership with future

Chennai: Strengthening its efforts to create a pool of trained and talented technicians, Ford India
inaugurated Technical Training Centre (TTC) in Chennai. The state-of-the-art facility in Chennai will be
the fourth such facility run by Ford to equip technicians from its dealership with future technologies and
skills.

Spread over 18,000 Sq. Ft, the Chennai TTC is located inside Ford’s Chennai Vehicle Assembly & Engine
Plant in Chengalpattu and additionally trains 1500 technicians – taking the total number of trained
technicians to 2500 per year across facilities in India.

“Delivering a differentiated experience remains critical to all our initiatives,” said Vinay Raina, executive
director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India. “With state of the art training centres across India, we
are not only building a strong pool of technicians but also brand ambassadors who will deliver the feels
like family experience to our customers.”

With six classrooms, the Chennai Technical Training Center will provide technicians understanding of
Ford’s current and forthcoming product and technologies, provide specialized body shop/paint repair
training to enhance the quality of accident repair.

The centre also features Connected Studio to facilitate online training for over 200 dealer technicians at
a time across locations.

Alongside its own Technical Training Center, Ford also partners with Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) to
offer exclusive Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) curriculum to students. Till now, Ford has launched
ASSET (Automotive Student Service Educational Training) centres  across 14 cities in India – including
Kochi, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Mohali, Chennai, Sonepat, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata Cuttack,
Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Bhopal.

Other initiatives undertaken by Ford to provide a differentiated experience to customers include:

Service Price Promise:

Ford introduced Service Price Promise via a price calculator on its website. This
allows the customer to know the cost of periodic maintenance or parts even before booking the service
at a Ford dealership. Using the Cost Calculator, customers can carry a print out of the web quote and
have complete trust and transparency with their service experience at any Ford dealership.

Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs:

The Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs across Ford product portfolio
enables substantial saving in the ownership costs by breaking up an auto part into sub-components.
Currently, Ford has more than 800+ parts available under sub-assembly.

Peace of mind guaranteed, be it Sale or Resale:

Twitter handle @FordIndiaHelp and a 24-hour query resolution time ensure in being attentive to
customer needs.
