Renowned Car Designer Dilip Chhabria Arrested, Son and Sister ‘wanted accused’

Dilip Chhabria, who is a renowned car designer, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police. His son, Bonito, and sister Kanchan have also been wanted accused in a car financial scam of multi-crore.
Two other people, who happen to be two directors of his firm DCDPL, Choclingam Kathiravan and Sethraman Selvara have been shown as ‘wanted accused’ also.
Dilip Chhabria, on Saturday, was produced before the magistrate’s court. The custody has been extended till 7th January.
The crime intelligence said, “Dilip Chhabria has allegedly cheated an Indian cricketer along with a Bollywood actor.” The crime intelligence talks about the necessity of the probe of this crime. According to the police claim, they have received information about 16 registration numbers of DC Avanti cars registered with one engine. In this regard, the police feel the need to investigate Dilip Chhabria. Searches have also been carried out in Dilip Chhabria’s properties in Pune and Gurugram.
A finance company has talked to the crime branch and said that DCDPL took a loan from them on 41 DC Avanti cars, out of which 16 cars were never registered. The finance company on a talk with the Police said that ‘Out of 41 cars, some of the DC Avanti cars were pledged as collateral with it.”
However, Akhilesh Dubey, who is Dilip Chhabria’s lawyer has told the court that the case was registered at the behest of Kiran Kumar of Lalita Jewellers. According to Dubey, this case is an act of arm-twist yet no action was being taken against him.
