Gangavaram Port plants 2500 saplings under “Vanam-Manam” program
Vizag: Gangavaram Port participated in the Vanam-Manam plantation program celebrated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and planted more than 2500 saplings in the surrounding areas of the port premises.
As a part of the program, the Gangavaram Port management organised the sapling plantation near the main roadandInternal roads of Yards in Gajuwaka. The event was attended by Sambasiva Rao, CEO, V Janardhana Rao, Director (Operations), B. Balakrishna, Vice President, Vigilance (R&R and Security), G Brahmaiah, Director (S&P), D Jyothi, AVP (Environment) and along with key staff and members from the Port.
According to Gangavaram Port Management, “Vanam-Manam is a mega initiative by Govt of Andhra Pradesh to increase the green cover in the state. We support the Government in this program and have today planted more than 2500 saplings in our neighbourhood areas to improve the environment in our surrounding. There is a strong need for sustainable development creating awareness about the environment. These initiatives will definitely improve the quality of life for us and our next generations. We are proud to be associated with “VANAM MANAM” plantation program Celebrated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and are overwhelmed by the success of the programme”.
