The instant messaging app WhatsApp is planning to withdraw its support from various Smart phones devices/platforms from January 1st, 2021.
The instant messaging app WhatsApp is planning to withdraw its support from various devices/platforms from January 1st, 2021. While we talk about the supported operating systems, WhatsApp is recommending using the following systems and platforms:
Android OS 4.0.3 or newer, iOS 9 or newer, KaiOS 2.5.1 or new.
On its support page, WhatsApp writes, “If you own these devices, install WhatsApp and register your phone number. You can activate only one WhatsApp account with one number on one device at a time. You don’t have the option to transfer chat history from one platform to another. But one has the option to export your chat history in the form of an email attachment.”
iPhones which are using iOS 9 as an operating system cannot use the WhatsApp services from 2021. This also includes iPhone models up to iPhone 4.
Also, take a look at these phones which might not be running Android OS 4.0.3 or newer.
HTC Sensation
Google Nexus S
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
LG Optimus 2X
Samsung Galaxy S I9000
HTC Desire
Motorola Droid Razr
Samsung Galaxy S2
